Paris’ Passion

What made you want to be a hairdresser?

It's a very creative job where I get to try new things every day, it's the type of job that can never be boring as two days are never the same.

What's your main focus in hairdressing?

I want to experiment most with colour, focussed more toward colour corrections. I've experienced the effects of not liking my hair colour in the past and I want to help people feel better about their colour and make them happy.

What's the biggest lesson you've learnt so far?

That not everything is as easy as it looks, it takes time and practise to perfect a technique. For example, when I trained on how to use a wand, it took me a while to realise I am my own person and it may take me longer than others, but eventually when I figured out my own technique, I was very proud of the finished product.

Who's your biggest celebrity hair inspiration?

I find the most inspiring hairstylist to be Chris Appleton, as he creates different looks that suit every client. For example, Kim Kardashian gets the sleek shiny style, Katy Perry always has a funky, chic look. I like how he adapts and fits the hair based on the clients own style and aesthetic, he doesn't give the same look to everyone.
